Is ITPM legitimate?

ITPM is a trading-education business founded by Anton Kreil. Its official course pages publish the syllabus, the access period, the resources and the exams. I have taken all four courses and set out my experience in the reviews on this site. I am also an ITPM affiliate, so read my reviews alongside ITPM's own course pages and terms. Treat any performance figures presented anywhere as illustrations, not guarantees.

Who is Anton Kreil?

Anton Kreil is the founder of ITPM. Before moving into trading education he worked at Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and JP Morgan, and he appeared in the BBC series Million Dollar Traders. Which ITPM course should I start with?

It depends on what you want to study. IPLT is the foundation course: risk, volatility and position sizing, which every later course assumes. PTM is ITPM's core course and covers the most ground, from the macro process to long/short portfolio construction. POTM specialises in options and PFTM in currencies; both can be taken on their own, and both work best after PTM. ITPM's own recommended progression is IPLT, then PTM, then POTM, with PFTM often taken later. It sets that out in its course FAQ.

How much do ITPM courses cost?

Verified 12-month course prices: IPLT $1,299, PTM $3,499, POTM $3,499, PFTM $2,999. ITPM also markets premium one-to-one and in-person mentoring on a price-on-application basis. Is there an ITPM discount?

How long does each course take to complete?

Accepted Answer

ITPM publishes the format and access period for each course. IPLT: Online video · 12-month access. PTM: 43 videos · ~64 hours · 12-month access. POTM: Online video · 12-month access. PFTM: 29 videos · 12-month access. Study time depends on your pace and how often you revisit the practical material, and the 12-month access lets you go back to a module as many times as you need.

Can I get a refund?

Check ITPM's current terms before purchase, as ITPM handles the transaction and any refund request. I do not take payment for the courses and cannot process a refund. Watching Anton's free videos first is a good way to see whether the teaching style suits you.

What is an Institute Trader?

Accepted Answer

Buying a course does not by itself confer the status. ITPM's own Institute Trader FAQ lists minimum conditions, which include completing the PTM and passing its exam, opening an account with a contracted broker and funding it to the required minimum deposit. Read ITPM's current conditions before treating it as an objective. ITPM sets them and can change them.

Do I need prior trading experience?

No. IPLT is the foundation course: it puts a number on risk, volatility and position sizing, and every later course assumes that grounding. PTM is the core course and covers the wider macro and portfolio framework. Each builds on the last, so what matters is the time you give it and what you want to study.

Is the ITPM methodology suitable for UK/international investors?

The courses are online video and are sold internationally by ITPM. The material covers global markets, including US, European and Asian equities and currencies, and the macro and portfolio methods are not specific to one country. They are education, not a regulated qualification: check your own tax, broker and regulatory position separately.

What is the PTM exam?

ITPM describes the PTM as including an examination that tests your understanding of the professional trading methodology, covering macro analysis, portfolio construction, risk management, and the core ITPM framework. According to ITPM, passing the exam is part of the pathway to Institute Trader status.

Can ITPM lead to a career in finance?

ITPM courses are education, not a regulated qualification or a professional licence, and they are not a job guarantee. The subject matter is macro analysis, portfolio construction and risk management, which is what a fund-management or trading role deals with every day. That is why I find it useful. Treat it as knowledge, not a credential.

What is the difference between PTM and POTM?

PTM teaches the macro process and the long/short equity portfolio method. POTM applies that thinking to options: pricing, volatility, the Greeks and payoff structures used to express a view with defined risk. ITPM's recommended sequence puts PTM first, and POTM works best that way, though it can be taken on its own.

Is the Macro Dashboard included in the course?

The Macro Dashboard is a companion market-context tool built by this site (itpmcourse.com), and it is free for everyone. Sign up with your email on the dashboard page and it opens immediately. It is not a paid product, and it is not an ITPM product or sold by ITPM directly. The Workbench tools are separate: those are included with a verified referred course enrolment.
