PFTM review
Professional Forex Trading Masterclass
Macro-driven forex trading. Heavy fundamental analysis at a professional level.
New to the firm? Start with what ITPM is, or see how the four courses stack up on price and value.
Best suited to
The PFTM is ITPM's most advanced macro-driven course, designed for traders who want to specialise in professional forex trading. It's the most intellectually demanding of all the ITPM courses, with heavy emphasis on fundamental analysis, central bank policy, and global macro economics as they relate specifically to currency markets. This is not a course about chart patterns or forex signals.
What you're paying for
At From $1,499 (indicative — confirm at ITPM) you get 29 videos · 12-month access, taking a rigorous, fundamentals-led approach to forex. The course covers:
- How central bank policy differentials drive currency pairs across G10 and emerging markets
- Balance of payments analysis: current account, capital flows, and their impact on currencies
- Interest rate differentials and carry trades: the professional approach to forex positioning
- Macro regime analysis for currencies: understanding which environments favour which currencies
- Risk management in forex: professional position sizing and correlation management
- Geopolitical risk assessment and its impact on currency markets
Think twice if
This course may not be the right choice if:
- Heavy academic content — requires serious study time
- Forex-specific — less broadly applicable than PTM
- Requires strong macro foundation to get maximum value
My view
The PFTM is the most specialised of the four courses, applying the macro framework specifically to currency markets: central bank policy differentials, balance of payments, capital flows, and carry trades. It's fundamentals-led rather than chart-led, which in my view is its main distinguishing feature compared with most forex education.
I found the framework for linking policy differentials and capital flows to currency moves the most useful part of the course — it gives a structured way to think about why a pair is moving, rather than relying on chart patterns alone. It's dense, academic material that requires a solid macro foundation from the PTM to get full value, and its scope is narrower than the PTM since it applies only to forex.
